Elsa: "When you do sports, you release happy enzymes in your brain." (endorphins)
Elsa: "When the dog bites you, you'll get riabetes."
Aiden: "Elsa has an undranken coke!"
Aiden eats some candy thing. Katelyn moans about it being so unhealthy. She moans again, when she is unable to read the ingredients without her reading glasses.
"I'll help you read it," says Aiden, as he snatches the wrapper from her hand, "Lettuce, cucumber, ..."
Me: "Why is there a jar of psyllium in the kitchen?"
Katelyn: "So I do not forget to eat it."
Aiden: "But mama, psyllium makes you go high."
Me: ... (totally stumped, wondering what to say next) ...
Katelyn: "Ah, that would be helium."
Aiden: "Oh yah hey!"
Katelyn comes back home from a gym-session with a personal trainer. She proudly tells me: "I only used the machines for the French press" (bench press)
When he walks on a bicycle path, I ask Aiden to move to the pedestrian side. Later, I show him how this is made clear to us, at the beginning:
Aiden immediately says, "but they say pedestrians only for the pedestrian path. They don't say that we can't walk where the bicycles go."
Aiden says, "You know, I can move the hair on my head bro! No touching!"
Yes, sure, we want to witness that.
...
Aiden shakes his head and headbangs like a maniac.
I made a proper dad joke:
Katelyn: "I have my eye on that gyoza."
Elsa: "Did you ever try eating your eye?"
Erik: "Yeah, but I can't see what's so special about it."
We visited Berlin in December.
While we're driving through Germany, Katelyn suddenly asks me: "Where is this city called Ausfahrt? It must be pretty big, but I never heard of it!" Interestingly, I asked my parents exactly the same thing, when I was younger!
In an Airbnb, breakfast means eating bread or cereal in our kitchen.
Aiden: "What? You mean this place has no bah-fuht?"
We all look bewildered at one-another. Ah... Buffet!
We enter a hotel. Aiden and Elsa rush into the room and switch on the TV. Sighs of relief follow in quick succession.
Elsa: "Pheew. They have YouTube here."
Aiden: "Oof. And it has English!"
We decide to go swimming in the indoor pool. Katelyn finds a changing room for families:
Elsa smiles: "Bye Aiden."
It was really cold, especially in Berlin. When we arrive 'back' in Roermond the temperature is 2 degrees. Elsa is happy: "Hey. It's warm today!"
Before the flight back, we discuss the aircraft's on-board entertainment.
Aiden: "I'm going to watch Disable Me 4!"

Bye Aiden. :) Elsa has a sharp edge to her!
Ah! Lekker echte dommes.
